greetings,
my hp 2605dn printer using samba as a print spooler from solaris 10
won't print from XP, 2000. i've convinced myself that the windoze
boxes ship the print job off to the samba print spooler, but the
samba print spooler bitbuckets it.
samba 3.0.21b (sun's)

greetings.
my problem is i can't print from windows 2000 or windows xp.
my solaris box can print fine.
on smoking (solaris 10, samba host)
smbclient '//smoking/hp2605' -U jgs%password put /etc/motd
i get the printout.
on windows, this works:
echo hiya^L \\smoking\hp2605
on windows, from

incompatibility.
on a new server, running samba 3.0.22, solaris 10.
client Mac could not get access, claimed password was wrong.
a windows PC did get access.
the log files showed that the password was correct for BOTH the
Mac and the
machine A: samba server, upgraded from 3.0.7 to 3.0.22.
solaris 9.
machine B: samba client, on powermac G4, OS 10.4 (i believe).
i think samba is 3.0.10.
after the upgrade of the samba server (A), machine B cannot
get onto A. it keeps saying the password is wrong.
i've tried tons of stuff.
i asked a question about syncing unix and samba passwords, and
also where the archives were. i haven't seen any answers, so
now i'm starting to wonder if the msg got in at all.
if nothing else, help me find the archives of this mailing list
i looked through all my join email and didn't see
1) where's this list archived? i looked through my joining email
and the web pages it sent me to, it says i might be better off reading
the archives, but i can't find 'em i've got a feeling my problem
is old news, if i could just find the archives.
