Hello @ll,
I'm having the following problem on a RHEL 3 Update 3, with the latest
official release packages for RHEL 3.

But still there are some new problems that popped up. wbinfo -u ,wbinfo

Also getent passwd works, and shows me all the windows accounts, but it

Hello,
Ok, so I fixed the ACL to your example
#access to dn.base= by * read
#access to dn.base=cn=subschema by * read
access to attr=userPassword

Hello,
These last changes did the trick, as far as I can tell all entries have
been added to the LDAP,
example entry from slapcat :
dn:
sambaSID=S-1-5-21-1960408961-1965331169-725345543-1884,ou=Idmap,dc=thales,
dc=be
objectClass: sambaIdmapEntry
objectClass: sambaSidEntry
uidNumber: 10370

still work.
Now I added a user called Admin , output from slapcat
Hello @ll,
First a small sketch of my working environment.
There is one PDC, W2000 server, which contains an Active directory, so
basically all the windows users are maintained there. And the Linux/Unix
accounts are stored on a NIS server.
My goal would be the following 2 things.
Firstly
shadowWarning: 7
loginShell: /bin/bash
uidNumber: 0
gidNumber: 0
homeDirectory: /root
gecos: root
Any ideas off what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,

Note: Also tried this usermap layout on the default version of Samba,
but also with no success.
Cheers,
