Anyone know how to use the current version of Samba 2.8 to change your VMS
password from the Windows 2000 Password Change dialog. I don't seem to have
a samba_password.com DCL script.
Thanks,
Mike Ober.

How does Pathworks do this? Since HP/Compaq will probably maintain
Pathworks as a layered product, the Pathworks method will continue to be
supported internally (unless there is a major change in Pathworks itself).

That's very true too. It's due to one of my optimizations, which was not

Hi.
There is a new version of Samba/VMS
The performance problems with Samba VMS 1.19.x were so severe that they
crashed the DEC IP stack on our Alpha VMS 7.2-1 system when I attempted to
use Windows 2000 clients and servers against them.

I have been working with this issue now for a while and it appears that the
problem isn't the directory listing itself, but the file size calculation
that takes forever. Any ideas on how to speed this up.

Samba VMS 2.2.4 is
excruciatingly slow enumerating directories on VMS. We are running ODS 5
on all file systems and have encrypted passwords in place. Anyone have any
ideas?
Thanks,

Clarification:
I know how to create a listener and accept a connection. What I don't know
how to do is to pass the client socket to a new process.

What are the benefits and gotcha's of converting from ODS-2 to ODS-5 on a
VMS 7.3-1 system with Samba VMS 2.2.4 running. Also, how is it done. The
VMS 7.3-1 upgrade offered to do this for our system drive, but not for our
data drives, so we didn't do it.
Thanks in Advance,
Mike Ober.
