[Samba] ad query using machine account credentials?

I need some ldap - AD queries from a linux client, which is member of the respective domain. This work fine, when the user on that linux client has gotten a kerberos ticket . As in that domain the passwords do frequently change, I would like to use the credentials of the machine account of that

[Samba] AD replication with samba4

googling around I found some interesting information about samba4. It is said, samba4 shall have an ldap server of its own, not openldap. Is this correct? If so, could this server fully participate in AD replication? Does a timeframe exist, within which samba4 shall arrive? Thanks Norbert

[Samba] transfer domain information from windows to linux

A dual boot machine is member of a domain when started with WinXP. Is it possible to transfer the "relevant" data from windows to the linux directory structure, so that when booting linux, the machine is also member of that domain? If so, which data must be copied from->to? Thanks Norbert -- T
