Hi,

I was attempting to make some changes to the file specified on the
username map parameter. I then assumed that I needed to refresh the smbd
options for this to take effect. I issued smbcontrol -d 3 smbd
reload-config but the changes did not happen. In the trace output, I see
the following messages:-

csm1:/opt/pware64/lib #smbcontrol -d 3 smbd reload-config

lp_load_ex: refreshing parameters

Are the two errors at the bottom a problem to this process? If so is
anyone able to help me fix them?

The SMBD process is started by ROOT and this was also the unix userid
that I used to run the smbcontrol command so it has full unix authority.

Smb.conf looks like this:-

[global]

        workgroup = customer

        server string = csm1 SAMBA server

        interfaces = csm1

        security = ADS

        realm = customer.edfenergy.net

        disable netbios  = yes

        log file = /opt/pware64/var/sambalog

        log level = 1

        max log size = 40960

        name resolve order = host

        username map = /opt/pware64/lib/users.map

        create mask = 00

e.t.c......

Cheers,

Steve Northcott
