I'm experiencing an odd situation on my samba (3.0.9) server (RH 7.3).
maybe it is normal, but I prefer to ask...
Some smbd processes are not owned by the corresponding user, but by root
instead :
[EMAIL PROTECTED] logs]# ps faxu|grep smbd|gre

If you configure smbd to use LDAP as passdb, there might be no problem. Samba
will read the encrypted password in the samba(NT|LM)Password attribute of the
LDAP entry.

Bonjour tout le monde,
J'ai un PDC samba 3.0.0 sur une redhat 7.3, le tout rataché à un LDAP.
Les postes clients sont en Windows XP Pro.
Je change mes mots de passe via Ctrl+Alt+Suppr depuis windows.
Celà marche pour les mots de passe de plus de 5 caractères.
En dessous de ce nombre, j'obtiens

sambaPrimaryGrouSID: S-1-5-21-2533171995-41200505-3792937173-513
This message doesn't seem to make problems for the user's logon.
I found nothing answering to this problem in the lists archives...
