Here are more findings,
The problem is repeatable upon a fresh restart on the CentOS 4 machine
with samba 3.0.23c for new
files as follows:
1. Craig creates a new
Urza, there are some Samba settings that you can use for shares that are
accessed by Win 98, and other file locking parameters. Have you tried
"strict sync", "sync always", and "strict locking"?Be default strict
sync is turned off, meaning that ".. smbd ignores the Windows
applications request

privileges" parameter is both yes and no. Does anyone know what the
