got a nasty problem that has reared its head this morning.
Windows 2003 ADS controller.
Samba 3.022
Ubuntu 6.06LTS
getent passwd returns users but not all of them.
I am missing a couple of hundred.
Also if i add a new user they do not appear in getent. however they

I have a few smb servers running cups or lpr. the problem i have is that
some sites are turing over many print jobs and eventually printing
stops. I find that the /var partition is full and on investigation
/var/spool/samba is full of smbprn.blah.blah files. when i dlete the
files printing is
I seem to have a problem where an XP system logs on fine but I allways get a
popup text file that appears? It seems to be to do with the profile as first
logon does not create the same problem.
Has anyone got a workaround for this, or seen it before

Does anyone have any idea how to setup password expiration and/or change
password at next logon in the samba server?
I do find that to be really helpfull when you have users who are alergic to
changing password from mummy etc..

I have noticed that my XP system does not pick up its login script at bootup.
the win98 is fine but XP just skips it. I am using %g.bat in the smb.conf.
Is there a problem with WinXP(many I hear you say) that stops it from picking up
login scripts.

Can anyone advise how to get Cups to survive a reboot with samba.
After Reboot both samba and cups are running but there are no samba preinters
unless I restart Samba. I have set links to rc3.d so that cups starts before
samba but still doesnt work.
Any help would be greatly appreceiated
