That's a pretty old version of Samba
on.
Could I upgrade just Samba? How hard of a task is it to update samba? I
don't know if I will need a special version since it is an IBM power
version.
Thanks!

I
time I did a samba server (the one this is
replacing -- under fedora) it was about a 3 week process to get it
working right, I really don't have that kind of time right now and would
like to draw on the collective experience here.
Thanks a bunch

Hi Folks:
It seems that there is a problem with samba and Server 2003 SP1. When
SP1 Installs, samba stops authenticating in ADS mode, and causes
considerable heartburn. The research that I have found (dated April of
this year) seems to indicate that it is a problem with samba
communicating with
help or direction would be greatly appreciated
I backed out the install of Service Pack 1, which does not appear to
have made a difference, but the other updates don't seem to be removable
Thanks

no problem there. Is
there a way to find a list of the UID for all the users.
I know that I can do it by logging in as each individual user, and then
touching a file in a public directory, but that seems like the long way
around the barn to get it done.
Any insights?

I can supply smb.conf etc if you need as soon as the server finishes
rebuilding, but it is basically identical to the one in the web page mentioned
above - the only differences are the ones to match our site
