Hi all, I have a problem with samba with ldap:
If I use unix password sync with smbldap-tools when I change my password
it chages my password but says that I can't do it cause my password is
invalid.
If I use ldap password sync it doesn't update my password age, but it
doesn't give me any errors.
Using ldap password sync=yes I can modify user password as admin
through net rpc user password but if I try to modify it from the user
(net rpc password myuser mypw -U myuser) or from windows (ctrl+alt+del).
I get a timout error:
[2006/03/16 21:52:40, 0] rpc_client/cli_pipe.c:rpc_api_pipe(790)
succeeded on fd 4
wbinfo -g --domain=DOMAIN :
Error looking up domain groups
wbinfo -a alphac%alphac --domain=DOMAIN :
(doesn't give back the prompt, I have to break with ctrl+c )
From samba logs the last thing I see is that a the user is autenticating
against samba no errors or anything else

I need to let squid authenticate against the domain controller but both
samba and squid are running on the same machine, but I cannot get to use

Is it possible do join to the PDC the same machine running the PDC
when I try to log on in my samba+ldap pdc sometimes Xp tells me that it
doesn't find the network path to the profile but I can see all the
shares including my profiles if I browse it after loggin in. The
drawback is that I can login but my profile isn't updated.
Is this a common issue, do you
