How to replicate DNS changes from pdc to bdc?
Is it something that I have to do with bind DNS or something samba4

Wow, thank you Miguel. By the way, maybe this information can be
useful for the developers.
As the RHEL4's rpmbuild problem I told you before, I changed a line in
pam_winbind.c - in function `_pam_error_code_str';
old line:
PAM_AUTHTOK_RECOVERY_ERR
new line:

Hi guys,
My samba server stop to respond many times today even though I've upgraded
the memory from 1Gb to 5Gb (it keeps eating my memory out). I've tried samba
3.0.32, 3.2.4 before, but no success. I go to samba.org and found
samba-3.3.0rc1. Is it save to use it in our production server? I'm real
Thank you Adam. I'll give it a try and inform you later.

The same problem here. I run RHEL 4 with samba-3.0.10 here and solidworks's
(SW 2008 SP3) user cannot save or run into/from samba share. I upgraded to
samba-3.0.32 and it solved some of my problem (user can save into samba
share directory. What still bothered me was some users could double-click

Hi,
This thing has run in my head either but I forgot to email the forum. Thank
you for throwing this out into the forum Vishes and thanx (again) to Volker
for the explanation.
Best regards,

Hi Volker,
That was the whole output I sent. And now regarding to valgrind, we're
running x86 here so that would not be a problem. But, I've never used that
tool before. Should I stop samba first or ...? It's a production server so
I'm scare to ruin something here with my stupid action. :|

Hi, thank you for the reply. I have set my server to run into 'init 3',
trying to decrease any resources as low as possible so (server stop to
response again - had to restart it) so I cannot go to system monitor again.
But I have captured the result of smbcontrol command. (see attachment).
Thanx a
Hi,
I'd upgraded samba to v3.0.32 last Sunday before our samba server started to
hang. Every day we have to restart our server 2-3 times (today I just
restart it once). I can see via System Monitor that 33 of our users each
(pid) consume 13.6Mb (average) of memory. Our server only have 1Gb of RAM
Btw, an 'smbldap-useradd -m' won't create samba user but an 'smbldap-useradd
-a' would (or you can add -m here too). Please correct me if I was wrong
with this.

Last week I tried to get a new samba server to authenticate to my PDC
(samba+openLDAP) and after digging for two days I found out that the only
part I missing was the above line. Stupid me.
BIG sorry,
My mistake, both the samba servers use the same smb.conf file (I have
changed the second smb.conf), except the netbios name parameter and they
both are failed to work with solidworks. Arrghh Funny thing is, although
we failed in the first double-click, the second will succeed! It do
Guys,
Last progress, I've already updated to samba-3.0.32 (rpm-ed the tar.gz file
for 2 days :p). Now I can use vfs logging facility again and I find out that
the log is prettier than before. What still confusing me is the user cannot
directly double click their solidworks file in our production s
Maybe the reason behind "testparm not showing them up" because they are all
come with default values. For example I set parameter "security = user".
When I ran the testparm command, it didn't show up. Try to change it to
"share" and see if it'd make any difference. But of course the developer may
