On a lan with a linux samba server and several win XP pro machines,
how can I make the samba server always be the `Master Browser'?

Please disregard... this turned out to be plain user id

Trying to create passwd for smb users I get this error:

Running samba-3.0.23c on Genoo linux
Is it possible with smbusers to allow a windows user to have root
privleges on a linux share?
A stock install of samba on Gentoo ends up with an /etc/samba/smbusers
file that contains this mapping:
root = administrator admin
It appears then that other windo
mount and mount.cifs both say to use uid=USERNAME to say who owns
files on the mounted device but that still doesn't allow a user to
write there.
My current mount command from fstab looks like this (wrapped for mail):
//chub/chub-e/mnt/chub-e \
cifs noauto,username=reader,uid=reader,creden
log for that machine. Just the main log not the
secondary one.
Loglevel is set to 3.
smbusers:
root = administrator admin
nobody = guest pcguest smbguest
reader = reader harry Harry
(the linux user is reader... winxp user is Harry)

Far as I know I don't. But understand I know
Building 3.0.23b I get these errors:

Yes, Ok, working on it, but I don't underst
nked down to 3.
The following area from one of the two logs produced by this
connection attempt, seems to be important but even this small chunk
defies understanding far as I can see:
The `Sid' lines seem to be telling something but who knows what. Then
finally it shows a ACCESS_DENIED.
