Is there a way of preventing certain characters being used in filenames as saved
by Samba? Basically I wish to prevent prevent files from being saved with the
characters ( ) * & in the name. Is this possible in Samba?
Thanks, qt4.

I am running Fedora 11 and trying to set up Samba. I've succeeded in setting
up the network printer.
I am able to go only to this stage: Place--> Network--> Windows Network
Do you have any suggestion? Here is what I get when I do troubleshoot.
I get the message in the tile when I do:
$ smbclien
Thank you for your reply.
By updating libtalloc file, I was able to solve this problem.

We have been using the same setup for years .. now we have introduced ADS
server ala windows 2003.. joining with samba 2 with Security = DOMAIN gives
an "unable to join domain" message.
So I have installed samba 3, now joining the domain is fine, and on linux
everything works perfectly, but on s
not
write. From the Samba server I can read and write the XP machines. I have
set the Samba server up in user mode. I am at a loss of what to do now. Who
can help me?
Thanks
