I do not know the answer to this question, but, you can prevent password
prompting by starting swat with the -a option. You can just run swat via
your browser, you don't need webmin.
Read man swat for details.
BTW, if you are new to both linux and samba, don't expect quick results.

i dont know webmin, but perhaps port 901 is blocked by ipchains or?
also i believe default is that you should only be able to access it from
localhost. i use 127.0.0.1:901 in gaelon on the local machine...
