I recently setup a username/password protected share on our Samba 3.0
server and am having trouble accessing it with Windows clients. When I
try this, I get the typical Windows error, This share is not
accessible, etc etc.

Hmmm, do you have the encrypted/plain text password correct?
Does the share have the same user/password as your Windows login?
Windows seems to not allow to change it after login.
I only know about W95/98

As far as I know the username and password used to access samba is the
same you use when u log into Windows (again, I am familiar with W95/98)
If you have roaming users, (we do) install a PDC and use (NT) domain
logon. The user profiles are then stored on the samba. That works pretty
good in
