Doh, you are right, it works with ad. Sigh, wasted a lot of time trying to get adex working :-). Strange thing is: 'getent passwd' gives me the correct list of all users with proper uid/gid/homedir/shell, however 'getent passwd ' doesn't and I can't log on using that user. I guess this would be
