the whole DLE contains 96.962 files and 8.093 folders.
The specific folder contains 2.183 files and 470 folders.
The backup is still running at the moment, but I can not say if itwill
succeed.

how many files in the folder? I know windows gets very slow to list
the contents if there more than a couple thousand, this could cause a
timeout depending on how smbclient handles that.

im trying to backup a Windows Server 2003 64Bit with Amanda. It uses the
smbclient for backing up a Windows Share.
So far so good, but on large shares I do get a lot of error messages which I
can not explain.
