Ok, I removed those 2 lines and tried again... It still took at least 2
minutes to login as it just "Sit's" on the KDE welcome screen with
nothing

No expert here but things to try:
1. Go through DIAGNOSIS.txt in /docs/textdocs
2. Make sure your RH firewall is not blocking ports 137 and/or 139. This is a
common problem.
3. Perhaps putting your linux server into lmhosts might help.
