Hello, you tell nothing about the software you're using (Samba version, cups ???, logs), so it's difficult to help you. a) The "paused" printers may be paused by cups, if an error occurs. If you're using cups, then check the logs and try to change the "error policy" of your print queue. b) GD

Hi guys, Can someone explain why sharing a GDI printer (think Laserjet 1000/1005/1020 for example) is so unreliable? I'm not moaning about Samba - I just want to understand. I have seen this several times. I get the printer working fine under Linux, then print to it through Samba, also fine. B
