I have samba 3.0.23 running as a clustered service on RHEL5 and I am wondering if it is okay that when I check the file permissions on the home directories they are numerical even if I reset the permissions. They stay in the long listing format until I restart the service and when I check again it looks like I typed ls -n instead of ls -s. I hadn't noticed it doing this before. It seems like everything works fine and the UIDs are correct I just want to make sure before I replace the RH9 samba server with it.
