Hi, try the ethereal sniffer, now at www.wireshark.org in the linux machine and observe the differences in traffic between the 2 and 3 releases of samba. I have the same problems with db databases files in samba server while at windows 2000 and windows 2003 it runs better. I'll soon make the

Hi Brian Thanks for the hint. Unfortunately I am not at all familiar with doing this. Would that involve strace? I took a glimpse at the man pages of strace, but I don't know if I could produce some useful output with it. But maybe I got you wrong and there's an easier way? I must admit that
