restart/stop scripts don't kill nmbd (on redhat based linux anyway).
have you tried...smbclient -L sambabox ?
it should show..looking up name on itself..(wins lookup)
output should show browse list...workgroup name ..and current

I commented out the "remote announce" line. While it does appear to have

Anyway, I am running Mandrake 9.0 and Samba 2.2.6 on my "server". The server
has 3 NICs for internet, wired internal net, and wireless internal net.
The problem: my Win98SE laptop cannot always see the server and thus does
