Simo Sorce fixed that after the 3.0.5rc1-release, IIRC.
Try the attached patch.
That patch doesn't fix the problem, it only reduces the amount of garbage.

adding a trashcan like behaviour on a samba share with something like:
vfs object = recycle
recycle:repository = .Papierkorb/%U
recycle:keeptree = Yes
recycle:touch = Yes
recycle:maxsize = 0
recycle:exclude = *.tmp|*.temp|*.o|*.obj|~$*|*.~??
recycle:excludedir = /tmp|/temp|/cache
