Starting/Stopping Samba (smbd and nmbd), PID files

Shouldn't smbd and nmbd remove their PID files (smbd.pid and nmbd.pid respectively) when they get with a TERM signal? Would the proper way be to remove them in the script which stops them? Thanks, -- Tom -- Tom Alsberg Hebrew University of Jerusalem, institute of Computer

CIFS test suite on Windows clients?

Is there any CIFS test suite that runs on Windows? (Or are there any good generic file system tests on Windows that can thoroughly exercise a SMB server?) Smbtorture is good but it only runs on Unix and is not a real Windows client. Thanks for any info on this. __

error in syslog on HP-UX concerning passdb
