I forgot to notify you that my old email adress: rene.rebe at
myokay.net (or even the older rene.rebe at okay.net?) is not available

I am trying to find my way round to write a Bearpaw 1200TA driver. So here
are some queries that I am stuck on.
I am loading modprobe scanner
and sane-find-scanner then reports
sane-find-scanner: found USB scanner (vendor = 0x055f, product = 0x021e) at
device /dev/usb/scanner0
Thanks for the info. Will go see what additional info is there

Folks,
I was successful in compiling gphoto2 support with sane (both latest
cvs versions). However I have had to unconfigure it for the following reasons.
When I specify the device on the scanimage command line it reports

gphoto2 reports the Bad Parameters error and then saned exits
saned shouldn't exit. The gphoto2 backend should just return from the sane API

Hi,
Just to make sure all backend authors read the info covered in the gphoto2
thread:
Do not use exit() and similar functions (e.g. abort()) in backends. This will
effectively kill the frontend and stop the normal SANE way of doing things. So
no other scanners can be selected. Other scanners

Ok. The only problem we have is: that the calibration data seems to
get rather big (200kB - 400kB?) and it _seems_ that it has to be
transfered with one SCSI command. (From the windows-log they seem to
be also using a single command ...). I'm not such a SCSI freak - so is

Hi developers,
Several weeks ago, Tim Waugh contacted me because of some temp file issues in
sane-backends. You may have noticed some activeity concerning this in the CVS.
A possible attack szenario:
* saned runs as root (it shouldn't, but if you have a parport scanner you must)
