I bought this scanner one year ago, i scanned lots of pictures and I
didn't experience any problems. I connected the scanner via SCSI to my
computer, and it really works great! It's a fast scanner and also the
quality is superior, I know much worse results! I've not yet tested the

Looks like a problem with your GTK installation. I don't think it's

KINPO is the vendor returned by the SCSI inquiry. However they do not
sell scanners directly. That's why I called the backed Sceptre, not Kinpo.

Shell is Konsole in KDE, OS is Suse Linux 7.3, 2.4.17 kernel. Think Konsole
uses bash as everything else with bash works with it.
Did not edit /etc/profile as it says not to, to add profile.local.
