When I switch to a newer version of sane, it nearly works out of the box

Hello,
First, here is what just works fine for me:
1.) Stock xsane-0.84.tar.gz with sane-backends-1.0.7.tar.gz from 20 Mar
2002. The mustek backend is patched according the email from Henning
on 4 Apr 2002 to make color scan available.
2.) The current CVS sane-backends, if used by scan

Greetings:
I have an HP 6300C scanner (using the SCSI interface; it's device 6 on
an Adaptec 2940U2W) with transparency adapter. The machine is running

Hello,
the attached patch adds the following feature to the xsane-viewer
scale menu:
If you change the x-/y-scale factor, you can see the
resultiing output width and height.
Or if you edit the resulting ou
Hi Carl,
take a look at:
http://www.umax.de/eu/Scanner/pl3000.htm
(device is at least partly supported)
http://www.umax.de/eu/Scanner/pl2100xl.htm
I did not test if the pl2100xl does work out of the box but I would help to
support it
(but without guarantee).

Hello,
I am developper for the SICOT Telediagnostic (http://telediag.sicot.org/), a
open source project which allows medecine doctors to upload scanned X-rays
pictures on a website where medical files can be reviewed by their peers.
Our customers are currently using sane with the Umax Astra 2400
The TPU of the EPSON Expression 1680 covers the whole scan area. The TPU
moves the lamp in sync with the sensor, so you always have the same lighting
conditions.
Check EPSON's web site, they also have an A3 model, but I don't remember
if they have a TPU for this scanner.

That would be nice.
I have VMware 3.0, so if it would help anyone, I could install Win98SE
in that and possibly gain some data that way (if anyone has an idea as
to how).
It would be fun just to see it work, though :)
