Hi,
I'm sending this back to the sane-devel list as I personally don't

Turn on debugging. Maybe it pronts something useful :-)
SANE_DEBUG_PLUSTEK=255 scanimage -L
The device node for the pt_drv in /dev does exist and the user has
access permissions for it?

Does anyone have a Plustek parallel port scanner working on Gentoo, or
can you see my problem?I am running plustek-module-0_40_17, xsane-0.86,
sane-backends-1.0.9 and sane-frontends-1.0.9. parport, parport_pc and
pt-drv load without errors. BIOS reports that the parallel port is EPP

Hi,
When you have read all this documents, why havent't you contacted the
Avision backend author (me) or choosed a subject for your mail which
I cany easily pick up ("gamma table values" -> "avision backend does
not work properly"). I do not have the time to read any mail on the
internet and also

the Canon 630u. For the 630u, all commands were sent as USB Control
Messages, with the scanner register address in one message and the value in
the next. Scan data was sent using USB Bulk messages. If this matches what

probably XSane ?) relies on the output of "sane-config --libs" and adds it

This seems to result in rather misleading error messages on MDK 9.1 in some
situations.
Obviously MDK creates required symlinks on

haven't come to a conclusion yet as to where the
