Hi!
Have you encountered this problem before? I
continuously encounter this frustrating segmentation
fault problem whenever I invoke my backend using
xsane, xscaninmage or quiteinsane. I have some luck
using scanimage, but that too occassionaly return a
segmentation fault after quite sometime.

That's a solution for the following problem:
SANE backends can be used in different ways:
a) One backend can be linked dynamically to a frontend.
b)
Hello,
I'v been donated an UMAX Astra 610P by William Stuart
(who also paid shipping). I am now able to bring SANE support for it.
It is still too early to tell, but it seems it will fit in umax_pp backend.
Although I expect there will be a backend for this model this year,
I'm getting an agfa studioscan with ADF (auto-document
feeder)
How well does Sane support feeders?
thanks!

I'm not that sure that it's a gl646. At least from the USB device

Hi,
I just wanted to know when will be released the next linux
backend version (snapscan) for Epson Perfection 1670 ?
And what is the expected Status ("Good" or "Complete") for this
new driver ?
For now, I understand the status is "Basic", and for curiosity I
made various comparison tests in 30

I am new to Linux and using redhat 9. I have an HP Officejet g55. I
have no problem printing, but can't seem to get the scanner to work. I
think I have the right backend, maybe I haven't installed it properly??

Yes, it can. Looking at the usb traces, it looks like it is very close, if not
identical, to a gl646. The registers u

No luck with the smaller buffer size, unfortunately.
I did find this past thread on the Sane mailing list archives:

Someone had the same problem as me. One person was able to resolve the
problem by disabling SCSI bus

Hi!
I have created a page with a summary of known problems on MacOS X.
http://www.ellert.se/twain-sane/patches.html
Patches (so far untested) are available for some of the problems. If
some of the patches solve the problems you have, please let me know.
