My system is kubuntu 5.10 and I'm hoping to get an Epson 3490 working.
I know it's not the ideal route to go, but I downloaded the rpm version and
used alien to convert it to .deb and then installed it with dpkg.
The only conflict was with libsane-extra which I removed.

Hi to everyone,
I use HP scanjet 3770 linux dirver downloaded from sane-project and it
work well on my mandrake 10.1, but I can't scan my diapo or negative
because I can't start the back light on the scanner cover...
How can I do it?

The LiDE60 scanner probably is a LiDE35/40/50 with a modified case.
There may be some technical differences, which would require changes in
the backend, but i can't tell without any reports.
