Hi!
I noticed on your page
(http://www.sane-project.org/unsupported/lexmark-x1150.html) the
Lexmark x1150 is listed as "not supported" and the comments section
says "At least the Lexmark X1185 is now supported by the lexmark
backend. Maybe the other X11.. scanners also work? Please tell us about

I would appreciate the support of the hp scanjet G 2710 by the sane project
and enclose the following output of the sane-find-scanner:

cat /proc/bus/usb/devices find nothing
This is sane-find-scanner from sane-backends 1.0.19
Hi,
I'm running under debian sid :
xsane : version 0.996-1
libsane: version 1.0.19-25
libsane-extras : version 1.0.19.14
I have connected the hp scanjet 4400c with USB. He is correctly detected :
17:30 giggz at thor ~ % lsusb
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1
I dont use SUSE, but I can make some educated guesses about their system:
1. install the libusb-devel package from suse. I assume yast can do this?
2. as root, remove parts of existing sane
rm -rf /usr/lib/sane
rm -f /usr/lib/libsane*
rm -rf /etc/sane.d
3. as non-root: download sane backends sn

I'm not surprised :)
BTW, have you changed path to firmware in the code?

Ivan Boldyrev, still waiting for Lars' logs.
the sane project does not provide the hp_rts88xx backend, it was an
external project which debian included into their sane package. It has
been supplanted by the new rts8891 backend, which is part of the sane
cvs repository. You could upgrade...
