Hello all, Let me introduce myself. My name is Yiannis Belias, I'm from Greece and study physics at the University of Athens. This summer I'm also a GSoC student with the OpenICC project[1]. My job will be to help integrate the image acquisition part of the graphics work-flow, that is SANE[2]

and here we have a merge commit like julien warned about, where my most recent (large) commit to canon_dr shows up again in this commit. IIRC, we should not use git pull, but instead, get fetch and git rebase to prevent this? not directed at chris particularly, git and i dont seem to get along yet

dude- download the sane-backend source tarball, and look at scanimage.c in the frontends directory. but really, it's not that big of a deal- in fact, you can add three lines to the top of the data buffer and get a valid pnm. also- turn off the html email. it's bad form on a mailing list. allan

I've seen similar behaviors with HP & Epson scanners on OSX. Problem (in my case) was that factory scanner software launches daemons on USB hotplug that grab device (scanner). My way of dealing with it (and use SANE) - kill HP (or Epson) daemons and anything twain ... and use SANE afterward.
