2013-05-16 Thread Amit Ramon
Hello, I've got a HP scanjet 4400c, and I'm trying to scan with xsane and xscanimage on Debian. When I scan at 75 DPI all is fine, with either color or grayscale. However, whenever I try to scan at a higher resolution I get an image which is all solid color, some shade of gray. Any ideas? Thank

The issue you describe with truncated data is a common one across many brands of scanner. With sane, it is the job of the backend to pad the image with the some default data. In your case, the backend is produced by the HPLIP project, not by the SANE project. They might be able to help you more qui

Hello Tiago- for developing sane-backends, you need the source code. You should download a recent git snapshot from here: http://www.sane-project.org/snapshots/ There are various documents on this page: http://www.sane-project.org/docs.html you should especially read the 'SANE Standard Version 1.0

I am sorry, I have done nothing further on this scanner. Frankly, this driver is entirely reverse engineered, and it is a big undertaking to add support for a new machine without any protocol docs. I'm not sure when I will have the time. allan On Thu, May 16, 2013 at 10:30 AM, cabbii wrote: > Do
