As a followup to our previous conversation about the Epson PX700W:
1. Any problems with the image quality I had before were caused by my
scanner being broken; after I got a new one, image quality is fine and
SANE works correctly over the network now.

I am on Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 which comes with sane 1.0.19. I have the
Epson Stylus Photo PX700W (European model of the Artisan 700), which is
connected to the network via WiFi.
I installed iscan 2.19.2-1 (it's the one which is supposed to have the
udev error fixed) from the avasys website bu
it working.
