How do I for-go hotplug and allow all users access to /proc/bus/usb
perminently?
(I can't get hotplug working - it drives me nuts anyway)
I don't have anything in /etc/fstab. Adding a usbfs line makes no
difference.
I'm running Gentoo. It may have it's own methods, I'm not sure.

Thank y
- recompiled sane with libusb support
- added hotplugging support to the kernel
- copied tools/hotplug/libsane.usermap and libusbscanner to
/etc/hotplug/usb/
- verified my scanner (acer640U) is in libsane.usermap
- ran /etc/init.d/hotplug restart
With the presence of libsane.usermap in /etc/hotpl
Where's the docs!?
The kernel module I had to load no longer exists. I have an Acer USB
scanner. Do I need to load a module at all any more?
"scan-image -L" as root doesn't list any scanners even though it's listed in
/proc/bus/usb/devices
Thanks for any help, if I can get this working lets ad
Hi, I don't have /dev/sg* , /dev/scanner or anything in /proc/scsi.
I stuggling to find docs that help me get sane setup! They all seem to
assume you already have a dev entry for your scanner.
I'm using a mustek_pp (6000p) with devfs.
I've now turned ide-scsi off.
