I have an HP Officejet 5740 which is an all-in-one with two scanning methods available - ADF and flatbed. I'm currently running Xubuntu 14.04.4 LTS with all the latest updates, and xsane version 0.998 (2010!). I love that sane handles this, but there are two settings that I cannot seem to

I have an HP OfficeJet 5740 All-In-One that has a document feeder and I was trying to scan a 173 page document with it. If I put more than one sheet into the feeder at a time, the scanner scans one page and then feeds the next page through without scanning it. If I set it to copy two pages, they

I noticed a while ago that when I want to save a scanned image, xsane always goes to the "Recently Used" link, which it will not actually allow but demands I select a destination directory. This makes sense, but I can remember when this was not the case and it would always remember where I last

I forgot to mention - I rebooted the machine and this still happens. I realize that's the Windows solution, but I never saw any problems like this when I was using Windows, and no, that's not an acceptable solution either. On Thu, Oct 29, 2015 at 11:32 PM, MR ZenWiz <mrzen...@gmail.com>

Last time I had this problem, it was on my laptop at my friend's house with a wireless HP Envy printer. Eventually that worked when I added the printer through CUPS. At home, I run Xubuntu 14.04.3 with an HP 5740 all-in-one attached on the USB (bus 3, device 14). When I first installed this it
