Hello,
I just changed to openSUSE Leap 42.2, where my Canon CanoScan 9000F
stopped working properly. scanimage scanned one page. Then stopped
working when starting to scan the next page. Scanner needed to be
switched off and on for the next scan.
Leap 42.2 comes with sane-backends V 1.0.24. Af
unction returns, instead of continuing on to look at

Maybe the value of status_loc tells what was wrong: unsupported,
invalid, io-error, permission denied.
Before changing the depth you may need to change the scan mode to Color.

That's unusual. I would not recommend to use SCSI IDs 0 and 7 at all.
But if this is the only way for you, who knows why ?

and maybe also some
error messages which may tell you what's going wrong. You also can look
at /var/log/messages if the USB-layer is creating some error messages.
I hope it helps

Hello,
after you have loaded the appropriate modules with modprobe, (epst,
etc.) you should see in /var/log/messages which SCSI-device is used for
the scanner. Before you don't see your scanner here, you don't need to
try scanimage.

Initio-9100uw on FreeBSD 4.6.2.
