*Job Title: DB2 DBA*

*Location: Windsor, CT*

*Duration: 6+ Months CTH*

The responsibility of the position is to work with architects, data
modelers, and application developers in the creation and support of DB2
databases from physical design through all phases of application testing.

DB2 performance tuning is a significant component of the position



*Responsibilities Include**:*

Work with application teams to design DB2 database objects that meet
business requirements and production standards. This requires obtaining
application knowledge while working with architects, data modelers, and
application developers.

Ensure the performance of the DB2 databases and application code from
development through production. This requires understanding of SQL,
application architecture, DB2 performance tuning, and DB2 architecture.

Install and migrate DB2 object changes through multiple test environments.

Work on complex projects with team sizes varying from 5 to 50.

Work on multiple projects simultaneously which span multiple application
releases.

Work with peers to develop and improve controls and procedures.

Work with peers and application developers to understand, test, and
implement new DB2 functionality.



*Skills**:*

Experience with the following tools: *JCL, QMF, Strobe, DB2 Plan Tables,
Omegamon and IBM Performance Database**.*



*Education**:*

7+ years DB2 DBA experience which includes implementing and maintaining DB2
database objects (DDL).

5+ years experience performance tuning SQL in a large complex DB2
environment.
