Knowledge of Oracle 9i/10g and MS SQL-Server architecture, installation, configuration, maintenance, and patching procedures. Strong experience writing T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers Experience with partitioning, replication, multi-level security, clustering, distributed transactions, OLTP, OLAP, and XML. Experience with upgrade from previous versions of MS SQL-Server (2000 and 2005). Develop and implement replication, archiving and backup and recovery strategies (DR Failover testing capabilities). Anticipate hardware requirements and storage capacity planning for Development, Testing, QA, Staging, and Production for scalable database growth and performance Proactively monitor production databases and optimize stored procedures for better performance Resolve locking conflicts/blocking and resource utilization Administer, maintain, develop and recommend policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company's databases and systems Identify and resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues and other distributed data issues Experience with SQL-Server log shipping, replication and clustering Proficient with recent Oracle database versions (9i and 10g) and features. Experience with managing Oracle systems on UNIX platform a plus (Sun Solaris). Unix shell scripting (sh & ksh required, perl a plus) Experience with Enterprise Manager and other monitoring tools like Grid Control.
