Database Engineer 1 year+ phoenix AZ Rate:85/hr+ Responsibilities: · Design and implement a highly available database environment to support business critical applications/ · Implement, fine tune, trouble shoot, support and maintenance of a highly available database infrastructure. Required Qualifications: · Should have over 5-7 years of professional experience in business, system and application architecture, development, enhancement, migration and maintenance on multiple platforms; · Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting of performance and availability issues with large scale J2EE distributed applications · Knowledge of DB2 9.7 topology and architecture · Knowledge of HACMP/PowerHA failover mechanism · Hands on experience in working on Power HA scripts and ability to test various conditions · Knowledge of various DB2 parameters that are used for operation and tuning Basic knowledge of data modelling, normalization, SQL query · Basic knowledge of query optimization · Unix (AIX) knowledge to use several commands in troubleshooting issues · Knowledge of HADR is a plus · Knowledge in SAN management is a plus · Extensive experience using a systems analysis and design methodology and an excellent understanding of industry trends and tools. · Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field required. Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering strongly preferred.
