*Lead Web Systems Engineer* *Culver City, CA* *6+ Months * Lead Web Systems Engineer The Lead Web Systems Engineer will be joining a high-performing team of software engineers and digital media specialists in the Digital Media Group (DMG) at SPE. The mission of the DMG is to research, develop and maintain digital media services that enable SPE businesses to more effectively and securely create, manage, distribute and monetize our assets. Primary Responsibilities: Lead a cross-functional scrum team in best of breed engineering and testing practices. Guide the architectural direction and technology roadmap for all applications – .NET Framework, ASMX and WCF web services, RESTful services, Node.js, AngularJS, BackboneJS, Ruby on Rails, relational and non-relational data-stores, Oracle, LINQ, ADO.NET Entity Framework, IIS, Visual Studio, etc are all well understood and can be applied appropriately Establish and promote processes and methods for software engineering including Test First Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and Continuous Delivery Lead technical innovation for the group, leveraging the best Open source technologies and libraries for the task at hand Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in CS, EE or related, Master’s degree highly desired. At least 7 years of demonstrated experience and success 5 plus years as a lead member of development teams (QA, Engineering teams) LAMP stack experience Digital Asset Management/Media Asset Management experience Content protection technologies like forensic watermarking, fingerprinting, digital rights management and encryption Content processing technologies like transcoding and image transformations Video and audio streaming experience Aspera SDK experience Lean, Agile, Rapid Development / Product Development Top open source awareness / code standards & best practices Possesses outstanding quantitative skills, problem solving aptitude and a strong technical background A deep commitment to quality and usability and a track record of delivering projects within successful cost parameters is required.
