Position: Oracle DBA with SQL Server DBA Exp Location: Mount Laurel, NJ Duration: 2 -3 months ( can go longer but candidate must be aware that this is a short term gig to start with) Job Description: The consultant must be strong with SQL server administration. Must understand oracle grid capabilities. Database Administrator Position Special Requirements. Candidate should have familiarity with all of these tasks. The DBAs responsibilities cover a spectrum of duties, from extracting data from existing systems to final testing of production systems with several data conversion and configuration steps in between. The DBA provides data support at all levels of database support, from design to implementation. The DBA must have a solid background and knowledge of Oracle and SQL databases to provide operational support in an Oracle Database, Application Server and RAC (10G and 11G) environments, as well as create, enhance and maintain production system models using database technologies. They are required to provide database support at all levels from design and implementation; Assure adherence to database standards and methodologies; Monitor database performance and perform upgrades/improvements when required; Analyze the database architecture to ensure optimum efficiencies. Should also be Skilled in code optimization and Improving efficiency in databases including Re-indexing, updating statistics, recompiling stored procedures and performing other maintenance tasks. Familiarity with Data Transformation Services (DTS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), as well as knowledge of maintaining database authentication modes, creation of users, configuring permissions and assigning roles to users is a must. The DBA interfaces with the Business Systems Analyst (BSA), Programmers/Developers, and other DBAs to: Interact with users to establish requirements and to produce test data and scenarios Translate the data needs and requirements of the application into the production environment, Identifies locations of data for tuning of data servers Administers system access and security profiles Participates in the deployment planning and execution to ensure all tasks necessary for bringing the data on-line are achieved Addresses data importing and exporting Data scrubbing and cleaning Data conversion and configuration System testing and integrity checks on the data. for data integrity Install, test, tune, and refine databases ensuring security and stability Document database structures, processes, and performance modifications Plan, execute and maintain database capacity, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery plans Knowledge of fault detection and resolution processes, along with: PL/SQL and database design; Scripting and automating tasks; ETL process; DBMS, DML (SQL), DDL, Utilities, Services, Troubleshooting, Architecture, Syntax; Strong knowledge of Linux; Strong written and verbal communications skills.
