The level of work is considered advanced. This position requires the ability to work independently or with only general supervision and direction. The position involves providing technical assistance, training and direction to other staff, as required, and may from time to time require directly coordinating activities of a small number of staff on various projects. *Principal Accountabilities:* - Gather and analyze business requirements, prepare technical alternatives and make high level design recommendations. - Design, develop and implement technical solutions for applications and/or interfaces, which may involve a number of different platforms. - Apply concepts and adhere to project management and software development standard methodologies throughout the development lifecycle. - Coordinate, formulate and/or execute various testing activities, such as unit, functional, systems integration, performance and penetration testing. - Investigate, debug, and resolve a wide variety of problems that occur with software applications. - Assist in or lead project management activities and provide technical direction and coordinate the project activities of other staff. - Provide on-going technical support to application users and potential customers. - Create and maintain application technical documentation. - Provide 24 hour on-call technical support for applications in rotation with other members of the department, as needed. *Other Accountabilities:* Perform other duties as assigned. *Supervision:* This position is not required to directly supervise others. *Knowledge and Experience:* Knowledge and experience normally acquired through, or equivalent to, the completion of a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of job related experience.
