Brief Description Of Assignment: The successful candidates will perform the functions of a programmer/analyst for the Retired Employee Systems team to support conversion of data from legacy applications to ERP replacement systems and modifications of legacy applications that are outside of the ERP scope. The legacy applications support retiree HR/benefits/pension processes and benefits accounting for all employee/retiree insurance benefits. The legacy applications utilize COBOL programming language with IMS databases. The programmer/analyst work will include analysis, programming, testing, and data conversion and/or implementation of requests, as well as follow-up and problem analysis. Work assignments are to be completed following the USS BSC Standard Operation Procedures. Personal Skills Required: Self-motivated Well developed technical, analytical, and communication skills Able to work in a team environment Able to manage multiple priorities for timely completion of assignments Technical Skills Required: Significant work experience within the past 5 years in programming maintenance and enhancement assignments for a production application using IMS databases in batch mode or conversion work for a production application using IMS databases. Technical skills in COBOL programming with IMS databases and IBM mainframe tools and utilities. Additional Skills/Qualities not required but would be a plus: Experience in Pension, HR, or Benefits applications would be a plus. Experience with Microfocus or SAS would be a plus.
