Title: Cloud Architect posted on 2014-06-18 17:47:54 Job Description: *Title: Cloud Architect * *Location: Houston, TX * *Duration: 6+ Months * The Cloud Architecture/Migration Lead will help to develop Birlasoft’s position as a leader in the Cloud Technology space. The candidate will leverage Birlasoft’s traditional leadership in ERP/Application development and IT management to develop a Cloud Practice. The ideal candidate will have experience migrating organizations (not just technology) from traditional, on-premise and waterfall models to Agile, Cloud-oriented models. This may include everything from IT process redesign to re-architecture of legacy applications. *RESPONSIBILITIES* · The purpose of the Cloud Architecture/Migration Leadis to ensure help Birlasoft customers understand the tasks required to move from traditional on-premise applications to “the cloud”. · Develops, maintains, and promotes a Cloud Migration framework, based on the existing Birlasoft Application Rationalization framework o Understands the ITSM implications of cloud-based versus traditional on-premise technology o Understands the strengths, weaknesses, pros, and cons of: SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, ASP, and other “Cloud” models o Understands when, whether, and how to recommend “Cloud” technologies such as: NoSQL, database clustering, Amazon Web Services, virtualization, etc. o Recommends both technology and process best practices for migrating from on-premise to the Cloud o *Is able to identify and recommend solutions for the complexities involved in all of the above* · Acts as a Business Development as well as a billable resource for Cloud migration, development, and implementation projects *QUALIFICATIONS* · B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent preferred · Experience with one or more of: Amazon Web Services, ServiceMesh, IBM Cloud, RackSpace Cloud, Openstack, NoSQL (any flavor), and/or other Cloud services/technologies, and platforms · Experience selecting legacy applications as suitable for migration to cloud platforms · Experience migrating legacy applications from legacy on-premise to one or more cloud platforms · Experience with Agile implementation methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) · Strong presentation, communication, and teaming skills · Deep skills with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint · Proven skills relative to a technical sales and operations environment · Experience gathering and documenting solution needs · 5+ years of relevant experience in professional services environment (preferably technology service environment) *Please provide me below information:* • Full Name: • SSN ID (last 4 digit number) • Contact number: • Email Id: • Current Location: • Relocation: • Work Authorization: • Availability: • Total Experience: • Expertise: • Rate: • Skype ID: • DOB • Educational Details *In case you are currently unavailable or not interested, please let me know and I will accordingly update our database.
