*Oracle Database Administrator—NEED LOCAL RESOURCES*
Location: need someone local to either Charlotte, NC or Tallahassee, FL
Duration: 4-6 months
Rate: $DOE/hr inclusive
Role Description:
The DBA (Database Administrator) is responsible for installing, configuring,
administering, tuning, patching, and recovery management of all Oracle
database instances needed to support the application.
Skills Required
3+ years of Oracle RDBMS administration experience utilizing the
following Oracle features: ASM, Data Guard, Data Pump, Grid Control and
RMAN
3+ years experience with RAID configurations and disk management
principles
3+ years of UNIX (Solaris preferred)
3+ years of Scripting experience (ksh)
Previous experience upgrading Oracle RDBMS
Operational experience applying Oracle Patches (i.e. Oracle
Quarterly CPU security patches.)
Operational experience with versions 9i, 10g, and 11g
Key Responsibilities:
1. Database administration for all databases (development environments
thru production)
2. Performance tuning for all database instances and related SQL
3. Database backups and retention
4. Shared responsibility for the verification of the Disaster Recovery
replication solution
5. SME for maintenance of all existing SQL based reports as well as for
developing new reports as needed
6. System administration responsibilities related to RAID configurations
and attached storage
7. As project needs and priorities are shifted, the above
responsibilities may be adjusted or expanded to meet client service and
contract compliance needs.
