Position: Windows/Exchange Administrator
Duration: 9-12 months
Location: Sacramento, CA
Duties
· Provide consultation to staff in evaluating, testing, adopting,
implementing and supporting the appropriate edition of Windows 2012 R2
Server (i.e., Foundation, Essential, Standard and Datacenter), to
standardize and effectively host virtual and physical servers to meet
business and technical requirements;
· Provide expertise in Windows 2008/2012 Active Directory, Active
Directory Federation Services/SSO, DNS, and DHCP with redundancy, VMWare
vSphere 5.x/6.x, Active Directory Rights Management, O365/Azure/Exchange
Online, Exchange 2010/2013, Certificate Services, Windows clustering, and
Powershell for IT operations and optimization;
· Design, build, configure, test and implement Windows 2012 Active
Directory Federation Services, DHCP, DNS and IP Address Management services
for high availability and resiliency;
· Provide consultation to staff in any changes to the Exchange
2013 system to handle on premise mailboxes, and decommissioning of Exchange
2010 system;
· Provide consultation to staff in establishing and adopting
standard configurations for Windows 2012 Server on VMWare virtual servers,
and on physical servers;
· Build and configure Windows 2012 servers on VMWare hypervisors
and/or physical hardware;
· Design and implement a standard Failover Cluster to host SQL
Always-On clustering capability;
· Provide technical support in planning, testing and implementing
changes to servers in non-production and production environments;
· Assess and recommend improvements to current processes and
procedures;
· Provide and utilize documented materials (e.g., processes,
procedures, specifications, etc.) to provide technical knowledge transfer
to staff.
· Educate client on 2012 server functionality/features to make the
migration to 2012 server desirable.
· The Consultant shall provide build and configuration
documentation that will be used as training material to transfer knowledge
to staff.
· Knowledge transfer shall be done through scheduled sessions
and/or shall be offered to staff on a job training basis.
Required skills and experience
· 5+ years of comprehensive and practical experience in Windows
Server 2008/2012 R2 administration and VMware vSphere 5.x/6.x;
· 5+ years of comprehensive experience designing, implementing,
maintaining and supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments with
Windows Active Directory 2008/2012, Windows clustering, DNS and DHCP;
· Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience in the following
areas:
o AD Application Mode
o AD Federation Services
o Identity Lifecycle Manager
o Active Directory Rights Management
o Trusts and Group Policy Objects (GPO)
o IT operations and optimization (Powershell)
o Core Windows Services and Protocols
o Windows Security Architecture
o Certificate Services
o Clustering and Load Balancing
o SQL Always On
o Core Networking Protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
o AD Replication Schemes, Directory virtualization, Authentication
providers (NTLM, Kerberos, Claims, Etc.)
o LDAP query language
o Backup and recovery of AD systems
o O365/Exchange Online/Azure Cloud services management
o Exchange 2010/2013 Hybrid
· Five (5) years of experience designing, implementing,
maintaining, and supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments with
Windows Active Directory 2008/2012/GPO’s, Windows clustering, DNS and DHCP,
MS SCCM/SCOM, and SQL Always On
· Advanced-level experience creating Powershell scripts using ISE
(Integrated Scripting Environment)
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a
demonstrated ability to achieve high customer satisfaction in high pressure
environment
· Proven experience working on projects through the entire project
lifecycle, while maintaining high customer satisfaction
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Windows Server 2012
· Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Messaging
· VMWare Specialist: Data Center Virtualization
· Experience with MS SCCM/SCOM
· Principles of ITIL
· Experience with F5 load balancers
· Understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
