Rate: $55- Hr C2C Duration: Long term contract Interview: Face to face is a must (So only locals or who can bear the expenses) Build release engineer Job Abstract: The Trading team is seeking an experienced Build and Release engineer to help build and maintain critical Trading infrastructure Job Responsibilities: As a Senior Build and Release Trading Engineer this individual will have the following responsibilities: Implement and maintain automated and self-service build, deploy and code quality tools Integrate new build functional and/or technical components into the build and supporting tools and processes Maintain and improve the release processes by staying current with the technology and internal standards Manage multiple release streams delivering the proper build to the proper environment in an automated fashion Create and maintain infrastructure documents, SOP and technical how-tos for all environments Maintain and execute through a prioritized list of work and ad-hoc request delegating work where needed Provide oversight and direction to offshore infrastructure engineer(s) Partner with Release Manager & Dev stakeholders to work towards efficient, risk free releases and continually improve scalability of build and release operations Act as a primary gatekeeper of releases, ensuring quality and integrity of software development Co-ordinate and support project branching and merging activities Drive and own all packaging, deployment and maintenance of development artifacts Specific requirements include, in order of importance: A minimum of 2 years in a release engineering or equivalent role supporting a Java EE or Spring- based architecture Knowledge of the Java programming language Strong knowledge and experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.) Proven experience of managing multiple ongoing releases and environments Strong knowledge and experience with source code control tools (e.g., GIT, Accurev (preferred), SVN) Strong knowledge and experience with Maven or Gradle and tools like Nexus or Artifactory Demonstrated experience stewarding good branching & merging principles Proficient with Unix/Linux based systems and scripting languages such as Perl or Ruby Ability to pick up new technologies in a rapidly changing environment, meticulous and detail oriented by nature, and keen eye towards identifying and eliminating risk Ability to troubleshoot failed builds and/or operational failures Strong understanding of software lifecycle and project methodologies, include agile/scrum Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task Computer Science or related degree Keys to the Position: A minimum of 2 years in a release engineering or equivalent role supporting a Java EE, Spring- based architecture or C# environment. This is a Must Strong knowledge and experience with of Continuous Integration and Deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.) We are currently working with Jenkins so that would be the preference Proven experience managing multiple ongoing releases and environments. They need to have experience managing complex release schedules as this is for the Trading Team. Strong knowledge and experience with source code control tools (e.g., GIT, Accurev(preferred), SVN). We are currently working with Accurev so this would be the preference. Source Code Control experience is a must. Candidates with Accurev experience would be given preference Build Tool experience - Maven and MS Build is a big plus. Experience with Oracle database and pl/sql is a big plus. Proficient with Unix/Linux based systems and scripting languages such as Perl or Ruby. Any scripting language will suffice This candidate needs to be proactive in troubleshooting, identifying what needs to improve and be able to collaborate with other groups Candidate needs to have initiative and take ownership of their work on a daily basis and be able to work in a fast paced, friendly, collaborative environment.
