*Job Description:*
• Required: 7 years of physical database design
• Jack of all trades
• Desired: industry certifications such as Teradata Certified Professional
/ Physical Implementation Specialist / Design Architect, or TDWI Certified
BI Professional
• Responsible for: Requirements gathering, logical data model
interpretation, physical and semantic modeling via ERWin using ModelMart
• Agile/SCUM experience is a nice to have
Required skills/experience:
• Desired skills/experience:
o Teradata physical database design, semantic design, and tuning
o Logical design tweaking
• Responsible for:
o Creating and maintaining physical data models
§ Based on inputs of logical data models, source data profiles, and access
requirements
§ Designed to support Target’s analytic and performance needs
§ Includes views, partitioning, and indexes as appropriate
o Collaboration with logical data modelers, BA’s, and Microstrategy COE’s
o Following all prescribed Target processes, standards, and reviews
o Performance analysis and design



*Who is the Internal/External Customer:*
               The internal/external customers are IT and Target
employees/consumers who are receiving the benefits of marketing,
manufacturing and procurement. Basically, the more efficient Target is the
more the company and the consumer
benefit.

*Impact to the Internal/External Customer:*

Target is going to create tremendous efficiencies as it completes these
projects. These efficiencies will help Target save money and will make
Target employees jobs easier through better marketing, and procurement of
product


*Business Challenge:*                                    Currently - there
are multiple Data Architecture related projects that have specific issues
that affect product supply to the store. These projects affect preferred
shopping, value (timely stocking of shelves/inventory and pricing of
products) and the overall customer experience for Target shoppers. This
architect will steamline these issues in the system. Target is trying to
improve on these issues so they can be more.
