Position: Mainframe/Cobol Developer Location: Lisle, IL Rate: competitive Duration: 12 months - Contract Must-haves Minimum 5 years' experience working in a mainframe environment Great personality/communication skills IDMS Cobol Software VM/VSE, COBOL, JCL, IDMS V16.0, ADSO, ADSA, MAPC, DMLO, FTP, EDI, VSAM, ADSAlive This position is responsible for the support and new development of the mainframe applications which include order entry, inventory, shipping, quality, and invoicing. This position is also responsible for the maintenance and new development of interfaces between the mainframe and the various server applications, as well as developing EDI messages for direct delivery to customers and the company's EDI provider. . Provide continuous support for the corporate mainframe production system including break/fix and issue resolution, analyzing and resolving production system issues, EDI transmission errors and interface transfer failures Work with Business Development team to gather and understand their requirements for enhancing the business systems and processes Design and develop code to meet specific business objectives Create detailed technical designs for all projects and ensure appropriate testing has been co! nducted Frequently interact with the Value Added Network providers to ensure all external parties are satisfied with the electronic communication (EDI) between all parties Define, plan and execute the process for handling goods exports, which includes developing and supporting an application and enhancements to handle the inventory and freight tracking Develop and support a new mainframe application and enhancements to enable using handheld scanners for inventory and shipment controls Please let me know if you need any more information.
